How Do I Configure a Stock Item Type?


The Inventory Module allows you to register and manage all items kept in stock for maintenance purposes. When adding inventory to the system, you add stock item types, which can help to categorise the stock item.


This article includes step-by-step instructions on how to configure a Stock Item Type.


  1. On the left column, go to Settings and click Stock Item Types.
  2. Click +New Stock Item Type.
  3. Enter the Name and Description of the stock item type.
  4. Enter the Minimum Quantity.
  5. Click Save & Submit.


  1. A field with a red asterisk beside it means it is required and you will not be able to complete your work without filling in these fields i.e. name.


  1. A field without a red asterisk beside it means the field is not required, although it may be helpful to fill these out to complete your work i.e. description and minimum quantity.
