The Courses Module

Courses can be added to the LMS (Learning Management System), enabling employees to receive the necessary training assigned to them for their roles and projects. There are various types of courses tailored to different job sectors, such as construction, food safety, health and safety, or hospitality.

Setting up Courses on the System

Training courses can be created using external authoring software or via the LMS’s built-in functionality, which allows PDF documents and other files to be uploaded as course content.

When adding a course to the system, general details about the course are entered. A course cover photo can also be uploaded, with a maximum file size of 2MB.

When setting up courses, the following options can be selected:

  1. Allow Self-Enrolment – enables learners to join courses recommended to them.
  2. Requires Approval – after completing the course, the certificate must be approved by a manager.
  3. Active in the EHS – the course is displayed in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) system.

Assigning Courses

Courses can be assigned to locations, projects, and user roles. Trainees assigned to these must complete the relevant courses to maintain compliance. Lessons, assessments, trainers, and trainees can also be allocated to existing courses. Trainees can access their assigned courses by logging into their portal.

Course Completion

Course completion settings can be configured for existing courses. These include:

  1. Certificate Templates – the selected template is shown upon course completion and can be printed. If no template is selected, the default certificate is displayed. (Certificate templates can be configured in the Settings menu.)
  2. Expiration – the duration entered determines when the course certificate expires.

The system offers the option to reset the course once the certificate has expired. You can specify the number of days before the course can be retaken. There is also an option to allow the course to be repeated before expiry.

Course Completion Requirement Options

  1. Pre-existing Certificates – the trainee has already obtained relevant certificates for the course.
  2. Profile Picture – the trainee must have a profile picture.
  3. Lessons – completion of lessons is required.
  4. Assessments – completion of assessments is required.
  5. Classroom Training – attendance at in-person classroom training is required.
