How Do I Add a Corrective Action?


Corrective actions are specific steps taken to eliminate the root cause of a problem, incident, non-compliance, or hazard with the goal of preventing it from happening again. Corrective actions are reactive - they are triggered after something goes wrong. They focus on fixing the root cause and not just the immediate symptoms.


Corrective actions can be initiated from various areas within the system, including:

  1. Audits
  2. Red & Yellow Cards
  3. Accidents & Incidents
  4. Plant & Equipment
  5. Risk Assessments
  6. Employee Check Sheets
  7. Safety Observations
  8. Vehicles
  9. Issues & Opportunities


This article includes step-by-step instructions on how to add a corrective action.


  1. On the left side menu, click Corrective Actions.
  2. Click +New Corrective Action.
  3. Choose from the options if the person you are assigning the corrective action to is an internal or external administrator.
  4. Enter the Action Description.
  5. Choose who the corrective action is Assigned to from the dropdown options.
  6. Enter the Problem Description into the textbox.
  7. Select the Corrective Action Type and Classification from the dropdown options.
  8. Select the Root Cause from the dropdown options.
  9. Enter the Action Required to Close Out.
  10. Enter the Due Date.
  11. Insert attachments by clicking on the white box or dragging and dropping the attachment to the white box.
  12. Click Save Changes.


This is required before you can add a Corrective Action:

  1. Set up People
  2. Set up Administrators
  3. Set Up Subcontractor Employees
  4. Set up corrective action types
  5. Set up corrective action classifications
  6. Add corrective action root cause
  7. Set up Notifications


  1. A field with a red asterisk beside it means it is required and you will not be able to complete your work without filling in these fields i.e. assigned to, type, classification and due date.


  1. A field without a red asterisk beside it means the field is not required, although it may be helpful to fill these out to complete your work i.e. action description, problem description, root cause, action required and attachments.


Other Options:

Under the dropdown options, you might see an option to add more, by clicking the Here button highlighted. This will take you to the section you wish to add more of, i.e. if you want to add more corrective action classifications to the system - be cautious that when you click this button, the details you have entered will be deleted.
