How Do I Add Plant and Equipment?


The Plant module stores all plant and equipment added to the system, along with their associated details. Administrators can add plant and equipment to the system and conduct equipment inspections.


It is important to record equipment in the system, as this helps to identify whether it is safe or unsafe to use. Doing so supports the prevention of accidents and contributes to maintaining a safe working environment.


This article includes step-by-step instructions on how to add Plant and Equipment.


  1. On the left column, click Plant.
  2. Click +New Equipment.
  3. Select the Equipment Type from the dropdown options.
  4. Enter the Equipment Name.
  5. Select the Equipment Manufacturer from the dropdown options.
  6. Enter the Equipment Make and Model.
  7. Enter the Description of the Equipment.
  8. Enter the Tag Number, Serial Number, Asset Number and Hired From.
  9. Enter the Expire Date of the Equipment.
  10. Select Equipment Owner(s) from the dropdown options.
  11. Choose the Location, Project, and Subcontractor from the dropdown options.
  12. The Subcontractor must be assigned to one or more locations to be able to use the system, as subcontractors need this information to set up employees or accept jobs, for example.
  13. Click Save & Submit.


This is required before you can add a Plant:

  1. Set up Administrators
  2. Set up Subcontractors
  3. Set up Employees
  4. Create the Equipment Type
  5. Set up Locations
  6. Set up Projects
  7. Set up Notifications


  1. A field with a red asterisk beside it means it is required and you will not be able to complete your work without filling in these fields. i.e. Name, tag number, and equipment type.


  1. A field without a red asterisk beside it means the field is not required, although it may be helpful to fill these out to complete your work i.e. description, serial number, asset number, hired from, owner, dates, location, project and subcontractor.


Other Options:

  1. Under the dropdown options, you might see an option to add more, by clicking the Here button highlighted. This will take you to the section you wish to add more of, i.e. if you want to add more equipment types, locations, projects and subcontractors to the system - be cautious that when you click this button, the details you have entered will be deleted.
