How Do I Add a Periodic Notification?



Periodic Notifications are sent depending on a preset timeframe rather than system events (triggers). The recipient list of periodic notifications can be filtered to ensure only persons who meet the filter criteria receive the notification, for example, only people who are enrolled in a specific course that haven't started it, yet. Periodic Notifications are ideal for reminder emails. They will be sent when a specified period of time elapses. These notifications are recurrent, i.e. they are sent for as long as recipients meet the filter criteria.


Create a Periodic Notification:

  • On the left side menu, click ‘Notifications’.
  • Click ‘+ New Periodic Notification’.
  • Enter the notification name, description, email subject, and email title.
  • Enter the email body and enter the frequency amount you would like the email to be sent – the number of days you enter is how often the recipient(s) will receive the notification.
  • Tick the box if you would like the first notification to be sent now and if you would like the notification to include a risk report.
  • Select the Recipients from the dropdown options – if you select Employees, Subcontractors or Users, the total number of recipients who will be notified will show under the dropdown.


Using the Filter:

  • You can filter who you want the notification to be sent to by clicking the 'Filters' button under the dropdown,
  • Click who you would like to filter and select the options.
  • For example, if you want the notification to be sent to only direct employees, click ‘Direct Employees’ and click 'Yes', it will then show under the dropdown that a total number of 9 recipients will be notified.


  • You also have the option to choose manual input, where you can enter the recipients email manually.
  • When you have made your selection, enter the CC and BBC.
  • You can insert attachments by clicking on the white box or dragging and dropping the attachment to the white box.
  • Click ‘Save & Submit’.


  • A field with a red asterisk beside it means it is required and you will not be able to complete your work without filling in these fields. i.e. name, subject, title, time and recipients.


  • A field without a red asterisk beside it means the field is not required, although it may be helpful to fill these out to complete your work i.e. description and email body.


This is required before you can add a Periodic Notification:

  • Set up Subcontractors
  • Set up Employees
  • Set up Users
