Plant Module Overview

The Plant module stores all plant and equipment added to the system, along with their associated details. Administrators can add plant and equipment to the system and conduct equipment inspections.

Inspections

Regular equipment inspections are essential to ensure items are safe to use and help prevent accidents caused by faulty or unsafe equipment.

Inspections can be carried out by:

1. Administrators
2. Employees (via the mobile app only)
3. Assigned subcontractors

Inspection forms are linked to equipment through the selection of the equipment type. These forms can be digitised using the Form Builder module.

Equipment Statuses

Equipment status is determined by inspection outcomes.

Status types include:

1. Safe to use: The equipment has passed inspection and is safe for use.
2. Not safe to use: The equipment is deemed unsafe after inspection. This status is also automatically assigned to newly added items until an inspection is completed. If an inspection is missed, the status will revert to Not safe to use.
3. Not in use: The equipment is no longer in operational use.
4. Expired: Certain items, such as harnesses, lanyards, or helmets, have expiry dates that can be recorded in the system. Once expired, the status will display as Expired.
5. Removed from service: The equipment has been taken out of service, usually due to malfunction or disrepair.

Equipment Libraries

The system includes Equipment Libraries, which allow configuration of different equipment categories. This functionality is accessed via the Settings menu.

The Equipment Library includes:

1. Equipment types: Used to categorise equipment. Associated inspection forms can be added and applied accordingly.
2. Equipment record types: Allow records such as photos or videos to be uploaded for specific items.
3. Equipment manufacturers: Records the company that produces the equipment.

The system includes the option to add multiple owners to existing equipment.

Corrective actions can be implemented to plant and equipment to identify the root causes of issues.
