How Do I Configure a Safety Observation Classification?

Safety Observations are recorded to identify both safe and unsafe behaviours, as well as potential hazards in the workplace. Reporting safety observations helps to prevent incidents at work and supports compliance with health and safety regulations.

When setting up a Safety Observation you assign it a Classification, which adds the required forms and default status.

To Configure a Safety Observation Classification:

  1. On the left side menu, go to Settings and click Safety Observation Types.
  2. Click +New Safety Observation Classification.
  3. Enter the Name and Description.
  4. Choose the Safety Observation Form from the dropdown options.
  5. Select the default status - Awaiting Approval, Approved and Rejected.
  6. Awaiting approval - the safety observation must be approved for it to be completed.
  7. Approved - the safety observation will automatically be approved when it is added and can be closed/completed.
  8. Rejected - the safety observation will automatically be rejected when it is added and must be approved for it to be completed.
  9. Click Save & Submit.

This is required before you can configure a safety observation classification:

  1. Digitise your Safety Observation Forms

  1. A field with a red asterisk beside it means it is required and you will not be able to complete your work without filling in these fields.
