How Do I Add a Question to an Assessment?
Questions are used as part of Assessments and can be set in various answer formats. Question banks can be created and reused across multiple assessments. Once created, questions can be added to different assessments as needed, promoting consistency and efficiency in the assessment process.
You must add questions before you create an assessment.
To Add Questions:
- On the left side menu, click Assessments.
- Click New Question.
- Enter the Question.
- Select the Type, types include:
- Multiple Choice - provides multiple options for the learner to select from:
- Enter the answer options in the fields and select which of the options is correct by clicking Correct. Optionally, you can create an explanation that may help learners better understand your question.
- Tick the box Randomise if you would like the answer options to be randomised for each learner.
- Match - enables the learner to match the answer to the question:
- In the Answers section, input the Option(s) and press the Enter key - these will be the answers to the question(s).
- Enter the other options in the Options text box(es). Optionally, you can create an explanation that may help learners better understand your question.
- Drag and Drop - allows the leaner to drag the answer to the correct box:
- Enter the text, answer and explanation into the option field(s).
- Text - allows you to enter details about the question:
- Enter the text into the field.
- File Upload - allows you to upload an image or document that is relevant to the question:
- Click Choose File and select the file you want to add.
- Signature - enables the learner to add their signature to the answer.
Other Options:
- You have the option to add more answers by clicking the 'Add' button, you can clear answers by clicking the 'Clear' button.
- You have the option to randomise the order of the answers if they are multiple choice, match or drag and drop – this will put the answers in a random sequence.
- Using the toggle bar, you can select the difficulty of the question.
- Enter the estimated time to complete the question by inputting the minutes and seconds into the fields.
- A field with a red asterisk beside it means it is required and you will not be able to complete your work without filling in these fields, i.e. the question, question type, options and difficulty.
