Certificate Issued Despite Incorrect Answer in Assessment

In some training courses, users may receive a completion certificate even if one or more questions in the assessment were answered incorrectly. This typically occurs when the course assessment is configured with a pass mark that is lower than 100%.

Assessments are often set with a minimum pass percentage that determines whether a learner successfully completes the course. For example, if an assessment contains four questions and the pass mark is set to 50%, a learner only needs to answer two questions correctly to pass.

As a result, the system will still mark the course as completed and may issue a certificate even if some responses were incorrect.

If the requirement is for learners to answer all questions correctly, the assessment pass mark should be set to 100%.

This ensures that the course will only be marked as completed once every question has been answered correctly. If the learner does not reach the required pass mark, the assessment will not validate the course completion.

To Change an Assessment Pass Mark:

  1. On the left column, go to Assessments.
  2. Click on the relevant assessment.
  3. Type the pass mark into the Minimum Pass Mark field.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Adjusting the pass mark in the assessment settings allows administrators to control the level of accuracy required for course completion and certificate issuance.
