The Courses Module

Courses can be added to the LMS (Learning Management System) which allows employees to receive the required training that is assigned to them for jobs and projects they are assigned to. There are many different types of courses that are suited to job categories, such as construction, food safety, health and safety, or hospitality.

Setting up Courses on the System

Training courses can be created using separate authoring software or using the built-in functionality on the LMS, which allows PDF documents and files to be uploaded to create course content.

When adding a course to the system, the general details of the course are included, such as the name, price, tags and category. The course cover photo can be uploaded, with the maximum file size being 2MB.

Options can be selected to:

  • Allow Self Enrolment – allows students to join courses that are recommended to them.
  • Needs Approval – when the trainee has completed the course, the course certificate needs to be approved by a manager.
  • Active in the EHS – the course is displayed in the EHS.

Assigning Courses

Courses can be assigned to locations, projects and user roles. The trainees that are assigned to these are required to take the assigned courses for them to be compliant.

Lessons, assessments, trainers and trainees can also be assigned to existing courses. Trainees can access their assigned courses by logging into their portal.

Course Completion

Course completion settings can be configured for existing courses.

This includes:

  • Certificate Templates – the template selected is shown when a course is completed and can be printed. If no template is selected, the default certificate is displayed (Certificate Templates can be configured in the Settings menu).

  • Expiration – the time entered indicates when the course certificate expires.

The system provides the option to reset the course when the certificate expires. The number of days can be entered to give a timeframe of when the course can be taken again. The option for the course to be repeated before it expires can be selected.

Course Completion Requirement Options:

  • Pre-Existing Certificates – the trainee has already received a certificate(s) related to the course
  • Profile Picture – the trainee must have a profile picture
  • Lessons – lessons are required to complete the course
  • Assessments – assessments are required to complete the course
  • Classroom Training – in person classroom-based training is required to complete the course
