How Do I Create a Corrective Action?

Corrective actions are implemented to address or eliminate the cause of a risk. They can be created from various modules within the system, such as Audits, Accidents & Incidents, Plant & Equipment, Risk Assessments, Employee Check Sheets, and Manager Check Sheets. This section explains how to create a corrective action directly within the Corrective Actions module.

  1. On the left side menu, click Corrective Actions.
  2. Click New Corrective Action.
  3. Choose from the options if the person you are assigning the corrective action to is an internal or external administrator.
  4. Enter the description.
  5. Choose Assigned to from the dropdown options.
  6. Enter the problem description.
  7. Choose the type and Classification from the dropdown options.
  8. Select the root cause from the dropdown options.
  9. Enter the action required and due date.
  10. You can insert attachments by clicking on the white box or dragging and dropping the attachment to the white box.
  11. Click Save Changes.

  1. A field with a red asterisk beside it means it is required and you will not be able to complete your work without filling in these fields i.e. assigned to, type, classification and due date.

  1. A field without a red asterisk beside it means the field is not required, although it may be helpful to fill these out to complete your work i.e. action description, problem description, root cause, action required and attachments.

This is required before you can add a Corrective Action:

  1. Set up People
  2. Set up Administrators
  3. Set Up Subcontractor Employees
  4. Set up corrective action types
  5. Set up corrective action classifications
  6. Add corrective action root cause

Other Options:

Under the dropdown options, you might see an option to add more, by clicking the Here button highlighted. This will take you to the section you wish to add more of, i.e. if you want to add more corrective action classifications to the system - be cautious that when you click this button, the details you have entered will be deleted.
