|Legal:||This certified online course is given in accordance with the guidelines of the Safety Health and Welfare Act (General Applications) 2007. By law, anyone using a visual display unit for more than 1 hour per day must have an office ergonomics assessment carried out. This course covers the topics relevant to setting up and maintaining a safe digital screen equipment workplace in an office environment. In line with legislative requirements, a workstation assessment is also carried out by a competent person. The assessment is included in the course price.|
|Certification:||As a blended course, where online theory is supported by a competent assessment, this course conforms to the guidelines of the Safety Health and Welfare Act (General Applications) 2007. This is a certified course based on the learner demonstrating a level of competence.|
|Duration:||You do not have to complete the online course in one sitting and you can also break it into small chunks if you wish. Should you have to leave the course unexpectedly, it will remember where you were the last time you left it. How long it takes you to complete the online course really depends on you but 60-90 minutes is a good guideline.|

|Examination||This course contains an online self-assessment at the end of the course, followed by an online certification exam. The self-assessment does not count towards the final examination marks but simply gives you an idea of how you are doing. On successfully passing the final certification exam you will be automatically issued with a passport certificate. Your full certificate will be issued together with your workplace assessment report.|

What is Office Ergonomics training?
Office Ergonomics training (sometimes called VDU or DSE training), is designed specifically to help learners understand the importance of correct ergonomics in the prevention of injury and to enable them to apply ergonomic principles in the set-up and maintenance of their workstation.
This course is part of the mandatory training regime for those using computer equipment in Ireland and should be taken by all employees who use any time of monitor for more than 1 hour per day.
